SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – Authorities announced multiple arrests after an operation in Santa Fe.
The Santa Fe Police Department, Region III Task Force, and New Mexico State Police (NMSP) worked together from November 12 to November 25 to crack down on crime, particularly those who “victimize the unhoused population.”
During the operation, NMSP said they made 25 felony arrests, 15 misdemeanor arrests, 13 drug-involved arrests, and 19 habitual offender arrests. Officials also seized 242 fentanyl pills and various amounts of heroin, meth, and psilocybin mushrooms.

“The New Mexico State Police is committed to understanding and tackling the root causes behind challenges faced by our unhoused population, which can lead to criminal activity. Through meaningful collaboration with state resources, NMSP aims to foster strong relationships that promote safety and enhance the quality of life for everyone in New Mexico,” reads a release from NMSP.
During the operation, advocate services and resources were supplied to those who opted for the help.
