Fall storms move into New Mexico next week

Heavy rain, strong wind gusts, and hail moved through southeastern and east central parts of the state throughout the day. Flash Flood Warnings have been issued for parts of these areas along with multiple Severe Thunderstorm Warnings as well as Tornado Warnings. These storms moved out of the state around sunset.

Our next fall storm system begins to move in overnight. Rain and snow showers will begin to push into the state early Sunday morning for parts of western New Mexico. These snow and rain showers will continue to become more widespread as we head throughout the day Sunday with most of the state expected to see some precipitation. Mountain snow showers will really pick up overnight Sunday and into Monday for the northern mountains and into Southern Colorado. Heading through the middle of the week another system moves into the state which will bring more wintry precipitation to the state.
