New Mexico sees rise in unemployment rate 

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions says more people were unemployed last month. According to numbers from the department, 4.1% of New Mexicans were unemployed in August, compared to an even 4% in July.

They say it’s also a jump compared to August of last year, which had a 3.8% unemployment rate. Workforce Solutions says the state’s unemployment rate is slightly lower than the national average. According to the department, more open jobs are available compared to last year.
