LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — A 2-year-old in Michigan, who wandered out of the house after bedtime Friday night, was hit by a car and killed.
Troopers were dispatched to the crash scene in Allen Township at about 8:20 p.m. Friday night, Michigan State Police said. When they arrived on the scene, they found the two-year-old girl lying in the street.
The girl was taken to a nearby hospital where she died from injuries sustained in the crash, State Police said.

The girl’s parents told investigators they had put her down to sleep before the crash. They were then working around the house when the toddler apparently got out of bed and left the home.
She walked into the street, where a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta struck her.
The Jetta was driven by a 38-year-old man from Allen, Michigan. Police say drugs and alcohol do not appear to have been a factor in crash, but the case remains under investigation. An autopsy will be conducted on the toddler, MSP announced.
