NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Clearer skies, lighter winds, and drier air for the western three-fourths of the region has allowed for radiational cooling to take place, and despite the damp start around The Pecos River Valley, more-stable air aloft will lead to almost all areas being rain-free today. While patchy fog is possible in Southeast New Mexico throughout the early morning with temperatures in the 60s and low 70s, dew-points have dropped elsewhere with near-freezing temperatures in the high elevations, while mostly everywhere else is ranging from the upper 30s to the low 60s.
Conditions will warm up though as temperatures will rise across the region from the morning school commute into the 60s, 70s, 80s, and low-to-mid 90s by the afternoon. Much less moisture in the air will to lead to cloud-free skies for many with only a few showers possible around the southeastern areas of The Land of Enchantment.
Stronger southwesterly upper-level winds have ushered in the clearer weather in New Mexico, allowing for the moisture to shift northeast of the region for the short term. Near-to-eventually above-normal high temperatures will ensue, but near-to-slightly below-normal low temperatures are still likely to occur.
