ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Officials with the New Mexico State Fair said the Junior Livestock Sale has once again set a fair record.
The sale was held on Friday, showing off animals that many New Mexico children put hard work into raising, grooming, and breeding.
“These kids work incredibly hard caring and nurturing their animals to prepare for the sale,” said State Fair General Manager Dan Mourning. “This record-breaking sale is a testament to their hard work and illustrates the community’s dedication to programs such as FFA and 4-H.”
Officials said nearly $744,000 in sales were made. It broke last year’s record of $710,000.
The state fair ends on Sunday.
