Researchers share ideas at 2024 BioVenture Partnership Event 

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – On Friday, an event at the University of New Mexico aimed to get cutting-edge research out into the market.

The annual BioVenture Partnership Event connects researchers with companies and investors to make their ideas a reality.

“This is really valuable for us because we are a close-knit community, but we don’t have a lot of ready routes to investors. On the East Coast, West Coast, you just have a lot of technological programs. You[‘ve] got drug companies all over the place; you have lots of biotech. Here, we really need this sort of community to come together [and] talk to one another,” said Director Matthew Campen with the UNM Clinical and Translational Science Center.

Campen said new cancer treatments and ways to address the growing problem of microplastics were some of the ideas pitched at the event.
