Native New Mexican’s creative works to deal with grief of Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon fire 

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Carrie Osgood is a New Mexico Native who has worked as a creative communications strategist, educator and alternative story teller. One of the way Osgood tells stories is through her picture books, “Escapades in Caves” and “Path to the Palace.”

Escapades in Caves was created as a way for Osgood to work through her grief from the Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon Fire that burned near her hometown of Las Vegas, NM. Osgood says she used her experiences traveling overseas to help come up with the caves metaphor in the story.
