Shooting in Santa Fe impacts traffic, prompts area shutdown 

SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – Authorities reported an officer-involved shooting in Santa Fe on Sunday.

In a post on X, the Santa Fe Police Department said the shooting is impacting the area with Washington Avenue closed from Marcy Street to Palace Avenue. Palace Avenue is closed from Washington Street to Paseo de Peralta.

Officials claimed a suspect was in custody and reported officers were okay. Drivers and the general public are asked to stay away.

Santa Fe authorities noted the Desfile de La Gente is canceled along with any other plaza events scheduled for Sunday.
