ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Albuquerque Fire Rescue is making sure its responders are prepared for real-life emergencies. AFR shared a video of its recent fire suppression refresher drill, which shows crews working through a “basement evolution.”
Participants were challenged to pull 200-pound dummies out of a basement with conditions of no visibility, forcing firefighters to rely only on their other senses and each other. The department says the suppression refresher is run by its academy twice per year, and all field crews and support divisions go through the training.
