ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Albuquerque Police Department arrested a woman last Friday for her role in the fatal shooting of an 11-year-old boy outside of Isotopes Park last year. Police said 22-year-old Janae Garcia helped dispose of an SUV used in a gang-related shooting that killed Froylan Villegas last September.
Garcia was charged with tampering with evidence. Her boyfriend, Jose Romero, as well as Nathan Garley and Daniel Gomez, were already charged in the case. Police said the men fired 14 rounds into a truck they mistook for a rival gang’s vehicle, killing Villegas and paralyzing his cousin.
