It has been another very hot day across the state with some areas seeing near record breaking temperatures. Apart form the heat, it has been much drier across New Mexico with a few showers developing across western and northern parts of the state.
Record and near-record high temperatures will continue through at least the middle of the upcoming week as the monsoon high camps out over New Mexico. Monsoon moisture continues to get wrapped around the high pressure, bringing in some isolated storms to far western and northern New Mexico through next Wednesday. A surge of moisture from the east will move in starting next Thursday, increasing rain chances at the end of next week.
