Woman arrested for DWI rollover crash with child in car 

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – New Mexico State Police arrested 48-year-old Margarita Bautista, accused of being intoxicated in a rollover crash involving a child.


Investigation launched after body found near Roswell

Around 1:15 p.m. Friday, officers were sent to I-40 near mile marker 271 for a single-vehicle rollover crash involving an 8-year-old child. Police say multiple witnesses informed them that Bautista was driving recklessly prior to the crash. NMSP says officers could smell the odor of alcohol and performed field sobriety tests. Bautista was arrested and booked into the De Baca County Detention Center, she blew over the legal limit in a breath test. The child was transported to a hospital and the injuries are unknown.

Bautista faces charges of DWI, DWI with a minor in the vehicle, and abuse of a child resulting in great bodily harm.
