NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Community colleges offer students an alternative to traditional four-year universities with a cheaper, sometimes more convenient option to get higher education. WalletHub recently released its study on the best and worst community colleges in 2024.
The study compared over 650 community colleges across 18 key metrics including cost and financing, education outcomes and career outcomes. New Mexico had a number of community colleges ranked on the list, including four in the top 25. Santa Fe Community College ranked as the 4th best overall, Southeast New Mexico College ranked 5th, San Juan College ranked 15 and Central New Mexico Community College ranked 23.
