ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Donald Sanchez finally is getting his shot at a belt. On Wednesday, Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) revealed that Sanchez will take on the defending middleweight champ, David Mundell. The fight will headline BKFC 75 in the promotion’s return to Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque on June 6.
Sanchez (4-1 BKFC) typically fights in the middleweight division, but impressed the promotion with his versatility to fight in light heavyweight. He is fresh off a unanimous decision victory in the higher weight class in February. After that fight, Sanchez called out Mundell. Sanchez is currently riding a four-fight win streak.
Mundell (9-1) BKFC is not only the current middleweight champion, but is also ranked as the BKFC pound-per-pound champion. Sanchez is ranked as the No. 4 middleweight contender.
The event will mark the 7th BKFC event in New Mexico and the 4th at Tingley. Tickets are not currently available and full details on the undercard will be forthcoming in the near future.
