2024 murder suspect released from hospital, booked into MDC

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A man accused of a murder from September of last year, who police say then fled from them in March, has been booked into MDC after a stay at the hospital. Police believe Julian Garcia killed a man who had just shot and killed Garcia’s uncle.

In March, police found him in southwest Albuquerque and attempted to arrest him. They say Garcia ran and was later shot by police after officers saw he had a gun.

Police say several non-lethal rounds had been fired previously before Garcia was shot by an officer with a rifle. Garcia had been in the hospital since his arrest, but APD says he has been released and was booked into MDC on a murder charge.
