ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A man who pleaded guilty to a deadly shooting at a house party in 2021 was sentenced to prison Friday.

Investigators said that Johnny Lopez and five other individuals fired more than 200 bullets into an apartment building in southeast Albuquerque, hitting and killing 16-year-old Gabriel Garcia Zimmerman and injuring ten other teens.
The shooting took place near Wyoming Boulevard and Copper Avenue in August 2021. Lopez was 17 at the time of the shooting but is now 20 years old.
Judge Bruce Fox sentenced Lopez to 17 years in prison.
