Protesters rally against Trump Administration on UNM campus

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Students, faculty, and community members came together on the University of New Mexico campus Thursday morning to voice their concerns and frustrations with President Donald Trump’s Administration and their crackdown on universities around the country. This protest was in coordination with more than 100 planned protests at schools nationwide.

Protestors are worried about the White House’s actions against schools like Harvard. “Threatened with $400 million in funding cuts, punished students with multi-year suspensions, degree revocations and expulsions, and agreed to conduct a quote thorough review of its curriculum beginning with courses about the Middle East. Shame!” said a protester.

The coalition of protestors wrote a letter with a list of demands for the university. They delivered it to UNM President Garnett Stokes’ office Thursday afternoon.
