ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A man who was driving drunk and killed another driver in May 2024 was sentenced to more than a decade behind bars Thursday.

Last year Bryson Kayonnie was driving drunk when he hit another vehicle at the intersection of 4th and Candelaria in Albuquerque. The driver of the other vehicle was killed in the crash. Kayonnie was transported to the hospital, where he told police he only had one beer. In March, Kayonnie pleaded guilty to homicide by vehicle. He was sentenced to 12 years behind bars.
