[1] Suspected serial child rapist arrested by Albuquerque police – Albuquerque police say Jesus Soriano-Govea is responsible for assaulting multiple children while his wife babysat them. APD was made aware of the alleged actions when an underage girl came to them, saying she was sexually assaulted by Soriano-Govea nearly ten years ago. Police say they interviewed two other victims who had similar stories. APD believes there could be more victims of Soriano-Govena. Anyone who is a victim or has more information is asked to contact APD’s Sex Crime Unit.

[2] ‘Waste of taxpayers’ dollars’: Report calls out City of ABQ remodel project – A new report from Albuquerque’s Inspector General is raising red flags over how the Keller administration handled renovations at old City Hall. The IG says the city spent tens of thousands of dollars redesigning the same project multiple times. The city declined an interview on the IG’s report on Wednesday, but sent a statement, blasting the IG’s credibility, suggesting the report has “misinformation.”

[3] Temperature rollercoaster with dust today then rain/snow ahead – Very strong southwesterly to westerly potentially-damaging wind gusts will then develop under a dry air-mass, leading to widespread dust with the even higher fire threat as a temperature divide will form today. Unstable weather in the form of a low pressure system from the west will once again lead to very breezy weather tomorrow with the high fire danger, as well as some blowing dust, but a push of even wetter conditions for many with mountain snow.

[4] ABQ Sign Language Academy making progress on long-awaited new building – An innovative and brand-new school building for the deaf and hard of hearing is now under construction in the North Valley for the Albuquerque Sign Language Academy. The new 60,000 square foot building on Edith Blvd. near Osuna Rd. is expected to serve more than 200 students. They expect the new space to start seeing students by 2026.
