The duo hopes the story invites kids to connect with the so-called fierce aunties in their lives. The story celebrates indigenous women and the role they play in children’s lives and the culture. Cultures sometimes define ” aunties” as not just a sister of a parent, but any woman in who plays a special role in a children’s life. Goodluck also authors other picture books with modern Native themes and reflect Native children’s everyday life and cultural experiences. Goodluck will be at Bookworks in Albuquerque from 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, for a reading and signing of her latest books. For more information, click here
