Farmington man arrested on murder charge after officers found body in vacant lot 

FARMINGTON, N.M. (KRQE) — A Farmington man was arrested on Thursday in connection to a body found in a vacant lot the week prior. Ames Begay, 40, is being charged with second-degree murder, aggravated battery and tampering with evidence, according to the Farmington Police Department.

The man found dead in a vacant lot at the intersection of Murray Drive and South Miller Avenue has been identified as Kenneth Bill, 68. Foul play was immediately suspected when he was found. Farmington detectives identified Begay as the suspect, with help from their real-time crime center.
