ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Lobo men’s basketball team has its newest member. Junior college transfer Antonio Chol confirmed on social media that he is joining the Lobos.
Chol comes to UNM from Garden City Community College in Kansas. The 6-9 forward is coming off a season where he averaged 19.5 points and 7.6 rebounds per game. He also shot 40% from three-point range.
This season Chol was named second team NJCAA All-American. He was also ranked as the No. 5 junior college player according to JucoRecruiting.com.
Prior to his time at Garden City, Chol spent two seasons at Rutgers. He took a medical redshirt his freshman season and played in a total of 11 games during his two years with the Scarlet Knights.
Chol is now the third player to commit to UNM following the hire of head coach Eric Olen. Chol joins UCSD transfer Chris Howell and incoming freshman Jake Hall.
