NMDOH working to raise awareness on alcohol-related deaths 

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – The New Mexico Department of Health is promoting the month of April as National Alcohol Awareness Month. The department said New Mexico has historically had the highest rate of alcohol-related deaths in the country.

Data from 2021 shows numbers two times higher than the national average. But progress has been made, with recent numbers showing a 16% drop in alcohol-related deaths.
