ABQ Police: Deadly overnight shooting on San Mateo may be ‘justifiable homicide’ 

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) — Albuquerque police are saying a deadly overnight shooting on San Mateo near McLeod Road may have been a “justifiable homicide.” Charges are not being filed at this time.

Officers responded to the apartment at 5324 San Mateo Boulevard on Friday at 1:10 a.m. Upon arrival, they found a man had been shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to police investigation, the man tried to force his way into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment after an argument. A friend of the woman shot him.

The investigation is ongoing.
