Alcove House in Bandelier National Monument to close temporarily

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – The Alcove House in Bandelier National Monument is going to be closed to the public for a while. Starting on Monday, park officials will be cleaning up debris from flash flooding last September.

They expect work to last up to 5 weeks. Parts of the Cottonwood Overflow parking lot will also be closed during this time. Other parking lots are expected to fill up quickly, and visitors are asked to visit before 9 a.m. and after 3 p.m. to avoid traffic.
