ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Albuquerque Police Department has placed Sgt. Lucas Perez on leave in connection with the ongoing DWI Unit scandal. According to APD, the department was told by the U.S. Attorney’s Office that Perez could be placed on the Brady-Giglio list which would mean he is no longer considered a credible witness.

APD has placed Perez on administrative leave. He has been with the department since 2016. He served with the DWI Unit and had tested to become the unit’s sergeant.
