NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – The New Mexico Gay Men’s Chorus is getting ready for their upcoming show, “The Unbreakable Harvey Milk.” The group is performing shows in Albuquerque and Santa Fe before performing on a college tour at different universities around the state.
The performance is a combination of two pieces by award-winning composer Andrew Lippa. “I Am Harvey Milk” is the story of Milk’s life from the rise to first openly gay man to hold public office in California to his assassination. “Unbreakable” shows the path and experiences of LGBTQ+ people over the last 12 decades.

The performance kicks off March 29 at 2 p.m. in Santa Fe at the Lensic Performing Arts Center. The show then comes to Albuquerque on March 30 at 2 p.m. at the National Hispanic Cultural Arts Center. The production will go on a college tour April 3 -6 performing at Western New Mexico University, New Mexico State University, Eastern New Mexico University and New Mexico Highlands University.
