ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A program that started less than a year ago is celebrating a major milestone. ABQ Ride Connect had their 10,000th passenger use the service. The pilot program will celebrate its one-year anniversary on March 18. In that time, they have helped around 300 people a week with rides in parts of the metro that have limited bus service. The areas they work in can be found on the city’s website.
On Friday, Dustin Jade was their 10,000th passenger. “You know, it’s a little different then compared to riding the bus system. It’s a little more personal. You get to know your drivers a little more, and generally there’s less riders. To me, it’s a more comfortable ride,” said Jade.
On top of the free ride, which is available to anyone using the service, Jade was given a free pizza and movie tickets. The ABQ Ride Connect app is available in your app store.
