ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The City of Albuquerque’s Animal Welfare Department is reminding pet owners to protect their furry best friends with a spring tune-up. “Spring is here, it’s time to make sure we keep our furry friends healthy and happy with a spring check-up. That means we make sure we give our pets the appropriate vaccinations,” said Chief Veterinarian Dr. Nicole Vigil, City of Albuquerque.
With spring just about here, the department is encouraging people to get their pets vaccinated and especially make sure their puppies and kittens get their regular shots. The department said while warmer weather is the perfect time to take pets for a walk, it’s also the time that preventable diseases can spread.
The department has resources to see where vaccinations can be obtained, and where free or discounted ones are given.
