ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Facing staffing issues, the Bernalillo County Youth Services Center held a rapid hire event Saturday at its main campus near Second and Montaño, looking to hire over 30 people. Officials said they are hiring for two positions, a youth program officer, both levels one and two.
They are looking for people who have a passion for public service. All applicants will go through a six-week academy, which includes vigorous on-the-job training. “So they will get acquainted with our policies and procedures, how to de-escalate situations, all of the basic skills they’re going to need to be able to do their job. That will also include some training on the inside of the facility so they learn the operations,” said the director of the Bernalillo Youth Service Center, Tamera Marcantel.
Both positions require a high school diploma or higher.
