NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – New Mexico State Police are investigating a shooting at an Allsup’s in Vaughn that left a woman injured.

NMSP says on February 26 the victim was at the Allsup’s waiting for a ride when she got into a verbal altercation with people that were in a car parked nearby. Police say during the altercation the driver, identified as 46-year-old Cipio Aguilar Sr., fired at least one shot, striking the victim in the league. The victim was taken to the hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. Aguilar was later arrested and booked into the DeBaca County Detention Center.
