APS holding African American Youth Empowerment Summit on Saturday 

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Albuquerque Public Schools is hoping to help empower African American students this weekend. APS said the African American Youth Empowerment Summit will be held this Saturday. It is a celebration of culture that allows high school students to learn and network.

Presentations at the event will focus on African American heritage, fostering a sense of cultural pride and identity, and will also teach students leadership skills like how to connect with peers and build community understanding. All students, no matter their race, ethnicity, or background, are invited to attend.

The workshop will run this Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the College and Career High School on Central New Mexico Community College’s main campus.
