Our latest winter storm has moved out of New Mexico tonight. A warming trend will bring a taste of spring by next week.
Snow continued to fall today in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and in northeastern parts of New Mexico. A few rain showers also moved through northeastern and eastern parts of the state. All of this precipitation has moved out of the state tonight. It’s been a windy and warmer day for most of New Mexico this afternoon, but the winds have mostly died down now tonight.
Much warmer weather moves into the state Friday as high temperatures will climb to near and above average for the end of January. This warming trend is only getting started as temperatures will continue to climb into early next week. By Monday, we’ll have some of the warmest weather we’ve seen since November of last year. In fact, many locations across the state will likely break record high temperatures next Monday and Tuesday. The Albuquerque Metro will make it up to nearly 70° with southern New Mexico climbing into the 80s!
