[1] Coldest air of the season for most ahead – Bitterly cold air is present with a colder start in many southern areas. And while it is not quite as cold as yesterday morning for most other areas, record cold afternoon temperatures to widespread record low morning temperatures are expected for some tomorrow morning with the northerly winds making it feel even more dangerously cold.
[2] APD: Man racks up charges after ramming police vehicle – An Albuquerque man is facing several charges after police say he rammed into a police vehicle downtown while driving intoxicated. An officer witnessed a vehicle run a stoplight, and according to the criminal complaint, when police approached the vehicle, the driver sped off before ramming into another police vehicle. APD says the suspect, later identified as Ivan Trujillo Jr., then rammed into a truck in the parking lot before APD was able to stop the vehicle.
[3] APD continues to search for 2021 murder suspect – Police are continuing to search for an Arizona man who is wanted in connection to an Albuquerque murder. In January 2021, officers responded to reports of a shooting near Central Avenue and Pennsylvania Street. According to the criminal complaint, David Gracia-Dominguez and another man sold Eric Montaño drugs before Montaño allegedly fatally shot Garcia-Dominguez. Anyone with information on Montaño’s location should contact APD.
[4] New Mexico gets over $17M in federal funding to combat homelessness – The state of New Mexico is receiving millions of dollars from the federal government to fund efforts to combat homelessness. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has awarded a total of $17,137,326 to projects throughout the state that provide housing assistance and supportive services to unhoused members of the community.
[5] Professional LEGO builders show off creations at New Mexico Brick Convention – The Brick Convention returned to Expo New Mexico for its second year this weekend. From flowers to movie scenes, thousands of creations were put on display in Albuquerque. The event also had LEGO professionals on hand to showcase some unique projects.
