ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Advisory and Review Board is giving the office its recommendations for 2025.

In a report, the board encourages the office to continue its efforts to enhance transparency with the public and focus on community concerns. The board recommends deputies and leadership support the behavioral health unit, continue to targeted crime operations, prioritize community outreach and upgrade taser and bodycam capabilities. The board also highlighted New Mexico’s red flag law as a major focus for the year, saying those temporary firearm protection orders have been underutilized.
