Japanese retailer Daiso opening store in New Mexico 

SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – A popular retail chain known for its Japanese-inspired items is expanding to New Mexico.

Daiso, which was founded in Japan, will open a new store on Jan. 11 at Plaza Santa Fe, located at 3553 Zafarano Dr. in Santa Fe. The shop will sell home decor, kitchenware, beauty products, stationery, snacks, and other items.

“We’re excited to bring the Daiso experience to New Mexico,” John Clarke, chief development officer for Daiso USA, stated in a press release. “We’ve received strong interest from customers in this region, and we’re eager to finally offer them a range of affordable and innovative products. This opening is part of our broader expansion, with more locations planned across the U.S. in 2025.”

Store hours will be Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. 

Daiso entered the U.S. market in 2005 and has since expanded into multiple states. The company’s U.S. headquarters is in Anaheim, California.
