NEW MEXICO (KRQE) — If you have old or sensitive documents in need of shredding, there are a couple of places to do it for free across New Mexico on Saturday. One location will accept old prescription medications as well.

Santa Fe
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., locals can bring their old documents and prescriptions to Santa Fe Place Mall for shredding and disposal. Participants are asked to follow the signs and traffic cones near the Regal movie theater parking lot.
If you’re bringing documents, you’re limited to two bankers’ boxes or garbage bags of material. It’s first-come, first-serve basis. As for prescription drug disposal, syringes, sharps or illicit drugs won’t be accepted. Liquid medicines like cough syrup should be tightly sealed in their original container.
Albuquerque
Duke City’s shred event will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Black Dog Shredding. Participants are also limited to two bankers’ boxes, or two small garbage bags. The event requires you to register online. Services are first come, first serve.
Las Cruces
This shred event will be at Wal-Mart on 571 Walton Blvd from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Similar rules apply – first come first serve, and two boxes of materials.
