ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Local students showed off their culinary and business skills on Thursday. Six teams at Sandia High School went head-to-head in the 11th annual food truck challenge.
The students came up with business concepts, logos, and menus ranging from Chinese food to tacos and enchiladas. They also had to develop marketing plans, balance their operating costs, and even cook the food. “Learning how to budget, help reach out to sponsors if we need sponsors cause if you look at some of the food trucks they have dions, albertsons, and Toyota so those companies are real companies in Albuquerque that we partner up with whether they donate money or donate supplies,” said Business Marketing Teacher Jmaes Palmer, Sandia High School.
The team behind Amor Pizza won this year’s challenge.
