The Robertson Cardinals blew into town on the strong south wind that aided Robertson in their win over Raton Thursday afternoon April 17, 2025, at Gabreille Field for a non-district game.
The balls had a tendency to carry deep into the outfield with the strong winds Thursday afternoon as Robertson sent several sailing deep giving them seven doubles and three triples on the afternoon. Raton also struggled on the mound and in the field as they had several dropped and missed balls to allow Robertson to round the bases.
The Robertson pitching staff struck out eight Raton batters while the Raton pitchers could only manage two strikeouts but added scores with seven batters walked. Raton’s second inning rally gave them the lead until Robertson added four more runs in the third. By the end of the sixth inning Robertson had 12 more runs than Raton to 10 run end the game after six innings 22-10.
