SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Santa Fe Police Department arrested four suspects in connection with an armed robbery on Friday. Police said the victim arranged to meet a woman, but she was accompanied by three other people.
The victim was accused of beating one of the female suspects previously, which police said he denied, and was hit by a man with a gun. The other man then fired his gun. The victim was not hit by gunfire. The group then took the victim’s vehicle and left the area. Police were later able to find the suspects’ vehicle, and they were arrested after a chase.
- Edwin Steven Lucio is facing five charges, including armed robbery and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
- Christopher Lee Varela is facing six charges, including armed robbery and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
- Mari Bella Gonzales was charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery and possession of a firearm or destructive device by a felon.
- Consuelo Ortega was charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
Ortego, Varela, and Lucio all had active warrants in other cases as well.
