Albuquerque
- April 11 Veteran and Family Resource Fair – The Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary Unit 29 is holding a Veteran and Family Resource Fair at the Veterans Memorial from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Veterans, families, and caregivers will have access to services, information, and resources available to them.
- April 11 Discovery After Dark Adult STEM Night – From 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., adults 21 and over can participate in hands-on experiments and art projects and check out the National Museum of Nuclear Science and History’s exhibits. There will also be food, drinks, and music for attendees to enjoy. Tickets can be purchased online in advance or at the door.
- April 11-12 The Show – Albuquerque’s longest-running comedy show happens every Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. Tickets are $12.
- April 12 Downtown Growers’ Market – Visit Albuquerque’s longest-running farmers’ market for the largest selection of local farmers providing fresh produce, eggs, honey, meats, local goods, hot prepared foods on-site, and handmade art, crafts, and body care products. Every Saturday from April to mid-November, enjoy live music starting at 10 a.m.
- April 12 April Family Day – Join the New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science for hands-on Earth Day activities for the whole family. Learn about helping our planet, build a bird feeder, make amazing art out of recyclable materials, and create seed bombs to celebrate spring. This event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- April 12 Outdoor Gear Sale & Swap – From 12 to 4 p.m. at the Canteen Brewhouse, sell, swap, or donate outdoor gear. Vendors can sell new or used outdoor gear—just bring a table and chairs. The vendor fee is only $10, and space is limited.
- April 12-13 Expo New Mexico Flea Market – Check out the food, vendors, and live entertainment at New Mexico’s largest open-air market. The market runs from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is $2 for walk-ups and $10 per car for parking.
- April 12-13 Duke City Foodie Fest – With over 100 food trucks and vendors, kids activities, and a food truck throwdown, this family-friendly event at Cliff’s Amusement Park starts at 11 a.m. and ends at 6 p.m.
- April 13 EarthFest 2025 – La Montañita Food Co-op hosts an exhilarating day of shopping for unique, recycled, upcycled, handcrafted jewelry and apparel from talented local vendors and more. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., in front of the Nob Hill location, celebrate the Earth with the community.
- April 13 Mindful Market – People & Planet Refill is once again hosting value-aligned vendors and community activities, including a free urban foraging wild walk led by Dryland Wilds. The event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
New Mexico
- April 12 Sensory-Friendly Egg Hunt Event – Come to Los Alamos to celebrate Easter and spring with toddler-friendly activities including popcorn, cotton candy, coloring, baby animals, temporary tattoos, egg hunt, and a free raffle. This event is from 3 to 5 p.m.
- April 12 Chic Street Flea Market – Join the ladies of Ebenezer Hats and Boujee Bandit in Alamogordo from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Flea Market booths are free and food truck spaces are $25. Entrance to the event is free.
- April 12 Kid-tastic Fun Fair – Enjoy a day packed with fun at the Alamogordo Recreation Center’s Kid-tastic Fun Fair featuring a DJ, laser tag, open pool, video game tournament, snacks, and more. The event is from 1 to 5 p.m.
- April 12 1st Annual STEM Fest – Learn about different science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, or S.T.E.M., career paths with community partners who will bring hands-on activities highlighting the variety of jobs. Join the Las Cruces Railroad Museum from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to discover more.
- April 12 Eggs ‘N Beggin’ Pet-acular – Come together in Rio Rancho for a PET-ACULAR event! Have your pet’s picture taken with the Easter Bunny, and don’t forget to bring their Easter basket for the Easter Egg Hunt. Dress up your pet in their Easter best and participate in the pet parade and costume contest. Easter baskets filled with dog/cat goodies will be given to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. This event is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- April 12 Otero County Farmer’s Market – Check out the only year-round farmers market in the area with many local farmers, crafters, bakers, and more exclusively from Otero County. This event occurs every Saturday from 8:30 to 11 a.m.
- April 12 Camels at Coronado – The Friends of Coronado and Jemez Historic Sites welcome the Texas Camel Corp to the Coronado Historic Site for a family-friendly event that will teach visitors about the history of camels in the Southwest while offering interactive artist demonstrations, storytelling, talks, and guided tours of the site. Tickets are $10 for adults and free to children 16 and younger, NM disabled veterans, NM foster families, Native/Tribal affiliations, and Friends members.
- April 12-13 Spring Dumpster Weekend – Farmington residents are invited to dispose of large household trash items and yard trimmings for free on Spring Dumpster Weekend. 2 forms of proof of residency are required. Please bring a valid photo ID and a current PAPER utility bill (within 60 days). The event runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days.
- April 13 Organ Mountain Sunday Market – The newest market in town takes place off Highway 70 in Las Cruces. Come check out weekly vendors, food trucks, retailers, and more for themed markets from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- April 17 Easter Egg Hunt – Join the Village of Los Lunas at the Sports Complex for an Easter Egg Hunt for kids ages 0-12. Starting at 5:30 p.m., enjoy a fun afternoon with plenty of eggs and prizes.

🔶 Albuquerque Fire Rescue celebrates number of ‘Hero Bags’ given away – Albuquerque Fire Rescue and a local non-profit are celebrating a milestone by helping bridge the gap between their personnel and patients with Autism. Elevate the Spectrum introduced the Hero Bags in 2021, and on Tuesday, AFR celebrated a milestone with more than 2,000 of those bags having been distributed.
🔶 Renew Health helping New Mexicans battling addiction – Renew Health started three years ago with a mission to tackle the challenges of addiction treatment. Renew Health currently has three physical locations in New Mexico and offers telehealth services.
🔶 New dashboard will show where Albuquerque housing voucher money is being spent – The goal? A more transparent way to see how the city is spending money to house the homeless. That’s what a group is working toward as Albuquerque overhauls the system behind millions of dollars in housing vouchers.

🔶 New Mexico Department of Game and Fish to host Bowhunter Skills Camp – The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish has an opportunity for those interested in learning the basics of archery and bowhunting. On Saturday, May 17, at Manzano Mountain State Park, the department is hosting its Bowhunter Skills Camp.
🔶 Free dumping weekends at the East Mountain Transfer Center – Bernalillo County is partnering to hold free dumping weekends and spring green waste days at the East Mountain Transfer Station (711 Highway 333 in Tijeras).
🔶 Western New Mexico University Board of Regents announces search for president – The new members of the Western New Mexico University Board of Regents held their first official meeting Wednesday and provided an update on their plans to find a president for the university.
🔶 Sam Bregman announces campaign for governor of New Mexico – Bernalillo County District Attorney Sam Bregman is launching his campaign for governor of New Mexico.
🔶 U.S. Senate passes Aerial Firefighting Enhancement Act – New Mexico Senator Martin Heinrich (D) and a local company are praising the passage of a bill to keep firefighting planes in the skies. The United States Senate cleared the Aerial Firefighting Enhancement Act, which reauthorizes the Defense Department to sell excess planes to be used as suppression tankers, as well as aircraft parts to maintain fleets.
🔶 Multi-million dollar roadway project to begin on US 285 near Roswell – A multi-million dollar roadway rehabilitation project north of Roswell is set to start on Thursday. Drivers should expect delays when traveling through the area of US 285 north.
🔶 NMSU: 6 international students’ visas revoked by federal government – New Mexico State University confirmed Tuesday night that six of its international students had their visas revoked by the federal government and could face deportation. The university said it’s unclear why their visas were revoked.
🔶 Traffic Alert: Pavement project begins on NM 2 in Chaves County – A pavement preservation project has begun on a major highway in Chaves County. Drivers can expect some delays on NM 2 from Dexter and Hagerman as that project is underway.
🔶 Counties with the highest unemployment in New Mexico – The first jobs report fully under the new Trump administration showed a softening job market, with the unemployment rate ticking up to 4.1% in February, according to Bureau of Labor Statistics figures released March 7.
🔶 NMDOH working to raise awareness on alcohol-related deaths – The New Mexico Department of Health is promoting the month of April as National Alcohol Awareness Month. The department said New Mexico has historically had the highest rate of alcohol-related deaths in the country.
