Jerry Davidson, age 77, died on March 21, 2025 in Colorado Springs. He was born in Colby, Kansas on March 16, 1948 to Leonard (Bill) Davidson and Lavera (Vickey) Owens Davidson. Raised primarily in Raton, NM, he graduated from Colby High School in 1966. After attending Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas, he enlisted in the National Guard where he served for several years, traveling the country for assignments in California, Texas, Wyoming, and Louisiana before returning to Raton in 1974 to help his father build their family home. There he met Debbie Donnell, whom he married in 1986 after moving to Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Jerry’s career encompassed sales in a variety of areas, to include cameras, fine jewelry, appliances, furniture, and automobiles. He was later instrumental in wiring new homes for soldiers at Fort Carson. He was incredibly knowledgeable in areas ranging from electronics and plumbing to history and science. Most of all, he was the friend you could call whenever you needed a helping hand, expecting nothing in return. Later in life, he enjoyed spending time with his two dachshunds, Goldie and Titan, transporting vehicles for Phil Long Ford, growing vegetables in his backyard, and cooking food to be shared with friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and his son Mark. He is survived by his ex-wife Debbie Davidson of Colorado Springs and his daughter Amy (Davidson) Conde, her husband Ryan, and their son Riley of Hoboken, New Jersey, as well as his brother, Bob Davidson of Trout Lake, Washington. Jerry’s cremains will be kept with those of his son Mark. The family asks that in lieu of a memorial, you share your stories of Jerry’s friendship with others who knew him well.
