Police said Isaiah Holland, 26, as well as several members of the victim’s family were in the bedroom when shots were fired. LPD said Holland fled the scene. Holland led officers on a pursuit before he was taken into custody. He was charged with evading arrest, two counts of tampering with evidence and one count of unlawful carrying of a weapon.
“This is not only a tragedy, but frankly, it’s outrageous,” said LPD Chief Seth Herman. He recognized there were theories floating around social media. Chief Herman asked the public to allow investigators to do their jobs.

Herman said anyone involved in the shooting, or anyone who tries to impede the investigation, will be charged. When asked about potential murder or manslaughter charges against any suspects, Herman indicated it was a possibility.
As of Thursday afternoon, Holland remained at the Lubbock County Detention Center on a $250,000 bond.
