NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – New Mexico’s Attorney General is pursuing more legal action against the Trump Administration over cuts to public health grants. NM AG Raúl Torres has joined 23 other states and Washington, D.C., in a lawsuit against the Health and Human Services Department, saying it illegally ended nearly $11 million in grants.
Torres said the cuts came with little warning and caused chaos in state health agencies. He said New Mexico could lose $30 million, and some programs could shut down. New Mexico is also suing the Trump Administration over federal mass firings, the funding freeze, and the Department of Government Efficiency.
