Duke City Krush baseball holds cornhole tournament to raise money for team’s travel

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – This local baseball team is raising funds to take their talents on the road. Duke City Krush is holding a cornhole tournament fundraiser over at Duke City Cages on Saturday at 11 a.m.

Baseball Player Rylee Silago and Baseball Parent Sarah Joe joined us on Thursday morning to tell us all about the tournament. Joe says the money raised through this fundraiser will help the team visit places like Hobbs, El Paso, or even Denver and Phoenix. She expects the day of the tournament will bring fun, food, and games.

As for Silago, he started playing baseball at a young age. He now plays multiple positions, including first, third, outfield,d and pitcher. He says his favorite part of being a player for Duke City Krush is helping out his team.

Joe says if you’re interested in supporting the team outside of the cornhole tournament, you can reach out to the coach to apply for a sponsorship that helps with room, board, and team lunches. As of now, they’re still looking for more teams to register for this weekend’s tournament. You can find the details on the flyer below:

The number on that flyer is (505) 550-7629.
