ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Bernalillo County Board of Commissioners approved an update to policy on glyphosate use. The update refines restrictions, and continues effort to sustainable weed-management.

The new resolution extends the moratorium period on glyphosate use in county-maintained areas where other weed-management methods have been implemented. The update also provides temporary restricted-use exceptions in areas that weeds have become unmanageable. The county is working to finalize a plan including scientific research, expert recommendations and peer-reviewed practices to guide weed-management decisions. The resolution passed on a vote of 4 to 1.
