NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – WalletHub released its recent study ranking the most and least innovative states. The survey compares all 50 states, plus the District of Columbia, across 25 different metrics. These metrics include share of STEM professionals, research and development spending per capita, share of tech companies, venture capital funding and more.

New Mexico ranked in the top half of the rankings, at 14th overall. In other categories New Mexico ranked tied for 1st in research and development spending and 9th in innovation environment.
