CLOUDCROFT, N.M. (KRQE) – Officials announced that the Gail Fire in Otero County has burned 12 acres. The fire, which is burning east of Cloudcroft, is burning along Highway 82. There is no threat to Cloudcroft.
Officials are telling residents in evacuation areas near Mayhill to go to “SET” evacuation status. The Cloudcroft Fire Department said multiple resources from the United States Forest Service and Otero County are working on the fire.
