The spring storm will move in tonight and cross the state tomorrow. This storm will bring isolated chances for rain and snow across northern New Mexico Tuesday through Wednesday. The rain and snowfall is not expected to be heavy. Additionally, the storm will drop temperatures. Central New Mexico will go from the mid 70’s today to the lower 50’s on Wednesday. Areas like Las Cruces will see a 10 degree temperature drop from today into tomorrow.

This storm system will also bring gusty winds. Tuesday will see wind gust upwards of 75 mph across eastern New Mexico. These strong winds will lead to areas of blowing dust and possible dust storms. Southeastern New Mexico will also see a critical fire threat on Tuesday.

The spring storm will be relatively short lived. It will have cleared from the state by Wednesday evening. Making way for another high pressure to move in by the weekend. The high pressure will warm temperatures through the beginning of next week.
